2017 Electrofishing Needs Volunteers

Most years, we have received funding to examine several local streams for the presence of Atlantic salmon and estimate the population of other fishes.  This data is used to prioritize management or restoration activities and to continue to monitor the watershed for endangered species and species of concern.  This project is not possible without the help of dedicated volunteers which come out to help capture and enumerate fishes, amphibians, and enjoy a day on the river.  We have had kids as young as 7 years old help to sample the fish populations, and it is an excellent learning opportunity for people of all ages.  If you would like to volunteer, please get in touch with us on our Facebook page, through this website, or sign up on our Doodle poll: https://doodle.com/poll/ycc5vnm444e9r6wb

Thanks to the Wildlife Trust Fund for continuing to support our efforts!
